Companion Planting herbs with vegetables and flowers in the garden is a time well spent in detering insects. Herbs have odors that ward off harmful bugs and attract beneficial insects. I use homemade garlic and onion sprays in my gardens.

Combine dried southernwood, wormwood and rosemary.
