Flowers and Their meanings:

Say it with flowers!

When I gather flowers for myself, I don't typically ponder the intricate world of "flowers and their meanings."
However, when crafting bouquets for my friends, I strive to elevate the experience by adding a touch of uniqueness. I attach a small tag to each arrangement, providing insight into the significance of some of the flowers I'm presenting to them. It's my way of adding an extra layer of thoughtfulness to the gift, turning a simple bouquet into a meaningful expression of care and friendship.

Exquisite floral compositions possess the power to elicit distinct emotions and communicate intricate messages. Across various cultures, from the vibrant symbolism rooted in Asian floral art to the Victorian era's elaborate arrangements, flowers have consistently functioned as messengers, conveying sentiments of joy, solace, and even making subtle political statements.

According to Rodale gardening encyclopedia, the Victorian language of flowers was complex, but fascinating to me.
How the flower was held, where it was worn and what colour was used affected the meaning.

  1. If you wanted to tell the recipient something about yourself;
    You tilted the flower to the left.

  2. Turning the flower upside down, gave the flower the opposite of its normal meaning.

These meanings may vary slightly based on cultural interpretations and personal sentiments.
Popular flowers and their meanings, because Sometimes we just can't think of anything to say. :)
