As for weeding; I don't like it, but I do love the end result.
The tale of the Japanese Beetle who thought it could ride up my leg in a pair of battle-worn jeans.
The beetle found my designer-level distressed denim (earned, not bought) and started crawling up my leg. I was not impressed. Maybe I should duct tape my gardening designer jeans next time and say "this tape is protecting a crime scene." That's my story. :)

🌿 15 Reasons NOT to Weed Today

🌻 15 Reasons TO Weed Today

  • I need to see actual soil again.
  • That one thistle is looking at me funny.
  • The mulch isn’t going to spread itself.
  • I want to find where I planted things.
  • The garden deserves better than chaos.
  • Fresh air is basically therapy.
  • My gloves are right here and I just made eye contact with them.
  • Weeding is oddly satisfying in a petty revenge kind of way.
  • I want the smug feeling later.
  • Every pulled weed buys me one smug sip of lemonade.
  • It’s cheaper than therapy and burns more calories than doomscrolling.
  • I’m avoiding something else more annoying.
  • I’m going to show those dandelions who’s boss.
  • Future Me will be grateful (probably).
  • I love my garden — even when it’s being rude.

Still can’t decide? Flip a coin, pull one weed and see how you feel. That’s gardening wisdom.
