☀️ Summer Garden Checklist

Print this checklist to help stay on top of your summer garden tasks across Canadian zones.

Water deeply and consistently, early in the morning
Check soil moisture often — especially during heatwaves
Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds
Harvest crops regularly to encourage continued production
Watch for signs of pests (aphids, beetles) and remove promptly
Deadhead flowers to extend blooming season
Stake or cage top-heavy or vining plants (tomatoes, peas)
Feed container plants with diluted fertilizer every 2-3 weeks
Begin succession sowing for late summer/fall harvests (lettuce, carrots)
Re-seed bare patches in lawns or flower beds if needed
Set up shade cloth or wind protection in extreme weather
Enjoy a garden break — take photos or invite someone for a garden visit
